🎣 Yellowfin Tuna Jigging & Striped Marlin Action in Cabo | Fishing with Hook2Cook

On this trip we had the pleasure of fishing with our good friend Ed from Hook2Cook, and it turned into one of those classic Cabo days on the water — great fishing, great people, and a lot of learning along the way.

We started the morning fishing with live sardines targeting small yellowfin tuna offshore. The tuna were holding deep, around 150 feet, so we switched techniques and started vertical jigging, which quickly produced some great bites.

At Tag Cabo Sportfishing, we always carry multiple setups on board so we can adjust to what the fish are doing. Some days everything works perfectly… and other days the fish humble us a little. That’s fishing! But adapting is what makes the difference.

After landing a few tuna, we made it our mission to help our friend Bob finally catch his striped marlin. The last time he visited Cabo we came up short — so this time we refused to head back to the marina until we made it happen.

To make things even more interesting, we deployed an underwater camera to study the behavior of striped marlin around the bait. Seeing how these incredible fish approach, attack, and get hooked gave us a whole new understanding of the strike.

In the end it turned into an unforgettable day fishing the waters of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo with amazing friends and plenty of action.
